Thanks Adrian! That's a great cropping suggestion and I'll give that a try. |

Bruce - Thanks for sharing a photo from early in your photographic journey. We've seen some of your amazing later photos - cool to see this one from the beginning. I tend to agree with Karen's comment about the orca at the right, but if this image shows the full extent from right-to-left, then the crop looks exactly right. |

Hi Adrian - Great image of the flowers and it's fun to do something different and this is certainly different than the photos of yours that I've had the pleasure of seeing before. I never would have thought of making Bruce's crop, but I quite like it because it draws more attention to the lovely reflections and I'm a sucker for a good reflection. Were this my image (I should be so lucky) and were I to go with Bruce's crop, I'd probably use the remove tool to remove the fraction of the flower at the upper right. |

Maria - This is a great photo! The details of the bee, the wings and the hairs, are just fantastic. I don't use Photoshop (still a Lightroom guy), and I'm not sure I follow all of your post processing description, but the result is A1. If I were to consider changing anything, it would be attempting to darken the whitish petal at the upper left, just a bit. As I stare at the bee, which is what I want to do, the brightness of that petal tends to draw my eye away a fraction. |

Thanks Bruce! Seeing the Oystercatcher chick was a special moment indeed. Looking at your photos, you've had some special ones too. I'll trade you an Oystercatcher chick for some bears eating salmon. Or, we can just look at each other's photos! |

Wow Karen, this is a really cool image! Seeing the spider's eyes and hairs is amazing! I haven't tried to tackle macro photography and don't have a good sense for all the technical challenges involved. But I imagine this was a difficult photo to get and the result is awesome! |

Thanks Karen! I was standing when I took the photo. There was a little hill between where I was standing and the beach and I could just see over the hill. It was a good vantage point and the hill separating us may have made the birds a little less skittish of me. |

Maria - This is a great image. When I zoom in on it, the detail on the antennas is fantastic! You could probably crop a bit tighter if you wanted to show more of that antenna detail. I also wonder how this would have looked with a slightly narrower aperture. The subject-backgound separation is great, but a slightly narrower aperture may have also provided good separation while making even more of the subject sharply focussed. |

Outstanding photo Isaac! Love the framing, composition and reflections. What are the elongated reddish structures (leaves?) that can be seen in the background? |
