Maria - Wonderful image. Here's another crop to consider. I particularly like seeing the disturbed water in front of the bird - it seems as if the bird plucked the fish from that disturbed water moments earlier. This crop tries to direct the attention to the bird and that disturbed water. I also used Lightroom Classic to do some minor color alterations mostly to emphasize the shadow of the fish on the bird and the ripples in the disturbed water. |

Maria - Great image and I love being able to see so much detail of the legs holding onto the blade of grass. I think Dragonflies have six legs, but I count only five in the photo. Makes me wonder where the 6th leg is. |

Isaac - Great image and looks like a perfect exposure. I love (some might say "am obsessed with") reflections and can't help wondering how this would look if we could see more of the reflection of the animals in the water. |

Adrian - Fantastic image! For me, the slight blur in the legs doesn't detract from the image at all. My eye goes straight to the crab's eyes and body, which are so striking that, even if I try to look away, my eyes are pulled right back to the eyes/body. Great post-processing job - the finished image is way more interesting and eye-popping than the original. |

Bruce - Congratulations on this astounding image. I'm a beginner in all respects (only been photographing for about a year, just joined the PSA yesterday and this is my first group). I'll offer a few thoughts, but please recognize this is just a beginner wondering about a masterpiece. I'm puzzled about one aspect of the depicted anatomy: there appears to be a paw/claw extending from the left-bear towards the neck of the right-bear, but I'm puzzled about which paw/claw that is and wonder if increasing the contrast would help clarify the anatomy. Also can't help wondering if increasing contrast between the bears and the water might add impact to the photo. I love the captured water drops/spray! I imagine that if I had been in your shoes, I would have taken hundreds of photos of these bears. Was this your favorite? |
