Rita, I love the colors, reflections, and beautiful detailing. Your sky replacement works very well, as does the low angle used for the shot. In addition, I like having the car on a "normal" street instead of in a car show or museum. There is a juxtaposition between the high-end car and the neighborhood that makes me wonder who is driving it and if they just stopped for lunch. P.S. My phone says it's a 1956 XK140 Open Touring Sport. |

Ann, what a fun image! It's a great reminder that photography needs to be a joy and an exploration. It took me lots of time and focus, and clues from other remarks, to figure out what I was looking at. Having figured it out, I like the pink lines written on the mirror that are just one more bizarre element. Good seeing. |

Erin, I like your photo just the way it is. The vertical orientation adds interest because of the visual tension inherent in vertical lines. The writing and the screw interrupt the pure abstrast to hold the viewer's attention as they ponder what they are looking at. In addition, your colors and texture are gorgeous. |

Denny, I recently got to watch a Space X rocket go across the sky in Palm Desert. So cool! I think it's a creative shot because many people have no idea about the "jellyfish" that forms behind the rocket. I'm including a slightly different crop that increases the relationship between the rocket trail and the cactus - a wonderful juxtaposition between high and low tech. Having less space in front of the rocket adds to the the sense of high speed as it crosses the sky. I also took out some of the area on the top and bottom to focus attention on the action, and I adjusted the tone curve to bring out the beautiful colors in the sunset/sunrise and added some darkness to the top for drama. I don't know if this actually improves the photo, but it was fun to play with. |

I like the story your picture tells of the sea lions actively calling. Here's a possible crop that focuses on that action. I also keep the original color, which I think slightly improves the separation between the sea lions and the sand. I also did some shading around their noses to separate them from the background. Great catch! |

Sounds like an interesting class! I especially like the intensity of the man's interest in his craft and the array of tools. I agree with Diana that the cropping could be adjusted to the left. I've included a quick edit that changes the aspect ratio to roughly a square for your consideration. The biggest compositional challenge is the large negative space in the upper left. |
