Thanks for everyone's feedback. Sorry I was late this month with my comments. I just had a second round of chemo this week on Tuesday and flew with my son to IL in the red-eye afterward, where I will complete my treatment with a family support network in place. So I have a new environment to photograph over the next six months, if I can find the energy. A big change from the desert! |

The diagonal ceiling line with different shades of grey and texture creates an interesting warping effect of the shadowed orchid image. The cropping to avoid the ceiling lights was a good decision. I like the soft shades throughout; not all shadows have to be dark to be dramatic. |

Nicely balanced image. You have given it a golden hour glow, so I am ok with the lighter foreground. However, you might want to mask that area and then see if you prefer to tone it down a bit in light of the other feedback or even add more glow to it consistent with the tones you have chosen. The clouds add good interest to the beautiful, serene scene. |

Erin,
The crop is well-done and really highlights the colors and textures of the buildings and their roofs. The repeated offset dormers and triangular roof hip joints in either side of the two parallel roof lines prone nice balance. The overall effect is one of a textured abstract. Would it be possible to avoid the merge in the bottom right corner by adding a tad more of the yellow stucco wall under the corrugated metal siding? |

A well-executed photo that accomplished your goals admirably. The warm glow adds nice tonality that does not make the tree seem too light, in spite of the starry sky. |

The bending has added a lot of interest to the original photo How did you soften the texture and yet added a furry quality at the bottom to the last orange piece that is partially reflected up top in the dark and light grey bands? You somehow expanded beyond the original photo with these outside bands. |
