Wow, I never thought that this could be interpreted is this way! Here where I live in Shenzhen, China, dogs are mostly treated as a member of the family, to the extend that there is even an annual pet festival week and show. This year's festival was visited by 2.5 million people (granted we have more than 22 million people in Shenzhen). There are several dog restaurants where people can that their dogs with them for lunch. |

Because everything from front to back is in focus, some of the characters in the background mix with the foreground and therefore cause a distraction from the main subject. By selectively darkening the background as well as her circle of friends, she will be more visible as the centre of attention and the background will look less important. |

This is a great photo; your timing was perfect. As a street photo, it has all the elements to make it an "I-wish-I-photographed-that-scene" photo. If this was entered in a travel category, then I agree with you that it does not give enough information about the place, but as this is a Street group, I do not think that is important. |

This photo evokes many emotions and is therefore very successful. It looks like you missed the focus as the chair in the background behind her is much sharper than herself and the chair she is sitting on. |

I like the cheerfulness of this photo. They had a good time and your photo reflects it very well. I would tone down the highlights as Birthday Girl stood in the shadow part, emphasising her important role in this day's celebration. It will also create a better sense of depth in the photo. |
