I also like both version of this photo. Your choice of crop in the B/W version is wise in that it avoids a big area in the front with no visual interest. The fog adds a very nice layering effet. |

This is a beautiful autumn scene. I like the color contrast between the warm fall colors and the cool mountain colors. I would include the top of the tree for completeness. |
