The angle of the shot is great. It captures lots of interesting "Easter eggs" that pop out the longer you look at it. For example, the ladder is a great detail. |

The swirl and the arch are the heroes of this image and they are visually interesting. I'd suggest cropping the image closer to get rid of some the distractions that draw attention away from the subject. If the lines on the column and wall pointed to the arch, they might add, but right now they distract. I'd also try to get some more contrast out of the lights and darks in the arch and swirl. |

Beautiful capture! I love the angle of the bird and little bit of extra space to the left that allows for the impression of motion.
Two thoughts:
1. what if you did this in monochrome? The colors are subtle and a little washed out. Maybe in monochrome you could really commit to a range of values? That might go well with the lines of the feathers.
2. what was in the background originally? The white background washes out the color somewhat. Maybe something darker with a little texture? |
