Thanks Rick, Robert and Michael! Images are taken from an always closed window seat, the area between cars are enclosed with no windows to view the outside. Trying to get a straight frontal view of a scene is hit and miss! The tilt of the trees is their natural appearance not due to the camera angle as I constantly use my cameras grid lines which works most of the time when the train is running smoothly. I wouldn't suggest using a tripod as the spacing between seating and window is limited. A tripod is useful only when the train is stopping for maintenance and there is time to set it up. I've used a monopod but it also has boundaries. I use the highest pixels allowed, and I assumed the resolution isn't as sharp due to resizing to fit the max. image size for the group. The most scenic Amtrak routes are those traveling to-from the west coast. Unfortunately WiFi unavailable to pinpoint, this image was taken enroute from Portland Or., to Chicago. |
