Mark - definitely a very interesting site to photograph. I also like the original color image very much as the muted colors are very pleasing and you can see the mold and rust very well.
Since Emil has offered an alternative crop suggestion already I went the other way and kept the full image. I felt this places more emphasis on the inside of the building which I think is the main subject . I tried to get as much details as I could in LR but perhaps it would be easier with a RAW image.
Well done

What a beautiful setting. Hopefully it was also a quiet spot and you were able to soak in the tranquillity.
I looked at the original and was a bit confused about the orange color cast. Was that the way the light actually appeared or did you use a filter of some sort?
I applied a bit more contrast as I assumed it was a fairly bright spot.

Wendy - you certainly capture amazing action shots right at the " decisive moment ". And the B&W treatment definitely lends itself well to this image.
As a second option I cropped the image to concentrate the action on the two main players. The third player does add context to the event ( you can see from his expression that he is planning his own move ) but it does pull the eye away slightly.
Well done

Pete - you proved that photographers are keen observers and notice details that can result in a great image. Cheers mate. |

Further to my explanation regarding a long exposure - I also did take pictures using different shutter speeds and this time I did manage to include a sailboat that was passing in the distance ( 1/125, f16 ISO 10,000). |
