Pete - thank you for the comments and the suggestion. I will experiment with different crops - as seen the crop you provided results in a more symmetrical view . And it's clear that viewers react differently - you suggested a brighter image and Emil less contrast.

Emil - thank you for the suggestion to consider different B$W treatments. I plan to revisit and apply different Adaptive B&W presets available in LR and also different filters in Nik.

Mark - I definitely plan to go back under different light conditions and maybe even at night so that the sky light will not be as visible.

Chris - you achieved very well your objective of capturing the symmetry in the scene. I feel that the high key treatment you used in post processing fits in extremely well with the sunny location in Florida.
Well done

Mark - you chose a good vantage point and great post processing techniques to capture the scene and develop your vision of using the S curve in the street as a leading line into the city and the sky.
I looked at cropping the image to put more emphasis on the S curve and remove a few distractions ( the car on the right, the plant on the left - although these can be alternatively cloned out).
Well done

Emil - this picture is absolutely incredible. It is one of the best images I have seen in a long time - I would expect it to win in any competition that you enter it in.
As a second version would you consider leaving in the ramp located in the left hand corner. Some viewers could incorrectly assume that the human figure was photoshopped in as a composite - the ramp could indicate an actual location and event.
Well done

Wendy - this is a beautiful image. You captured the action at the right moment illustrating the technical and artistic skills required for the sport. I was also impressed with the way you isolated the gymnast and placing her on a black background.
I did a slight recrop and placed a white frame border to allow me to visualize the scene on my black computer screen
Well done

Pete - nice shot and treatment . The wide angle lens used provides a perspective that implies the power that the cannon would have. I attempted to level the horizon line but this affects the crop a bit.
Cheers
