Mark - very valid comment. Generally I always look for the "hero" in a composition - in this case it is not clear if the main subject is the cloud or the wall. Can a photograph have an impact without a central subject? When I stood at he base of the wall and took the picture the only thing that crossed my mind was looking up and not seeing anything ( the wall impeded that ) other than the cloud floating freely in the sky. |

Pete - beautiful image and excellent conversion to B&W. I became a grandfather again less than two years ago and this reminds me that (1) children sleep even in noisy environments and not necessarily when you want them to and (2) caregivers are grateful when they finally nap

Very beautiful , tranquil scene. Reminiscent of when there were not too many tourists and the streets were quiet and you could enjoy them as if you were a local.

Mark - interesting image. It appears that the main image is actually a reflection unless of course you intentionally flipped the image horizontally to achieve this effect. This effect adds a lot of interest - as if we are looking at two dimensions.

Emil - thank you for the suggestion. Less cloud but more impact. |

Correction - I meant the white spot in the shadow cast by the box on the top left corner. |

Adrian - I am again blown away by the cropping potential of your camera. There are probably 6 more pictures that can be extracted from the original.
I was drawn by the parallel lines cast by the structure and the child's legs. To emphasize that I cropped in a bit tighter to minimize the amount of details that I had to remove by the spot removal tool. I also removed a few other small areas , including the white spot in the shadow cast by the box on the right. |

Emil beautiful picture. If it was morning it would have made it worthwhile to get up early.
I like the original crop as the emphasis is more on the tranquillity of the overall scene instead of the pier. Along these lines I actually brightened up the image and added some glow and soft focus to emphasize the fog |

Mandy - this is a great picture. The few times I tried to capture birds in flight they were blurry, out of focus and not very interesting. I like the original very much with the red/orange colors in the birds echoed in the trees in the background. The B&W treatment isolates the birds and their individual flight sequence becomes the main focus. |
