Sylvia, I like what you have done to this image. You improved the fogginess of it, I think. I will go back and see if I have something similar I can use with the software I have. You have given me some good ideas to try. Thank you for your comments and suggestions. |

Thank you, Yvonne. I submitted this image to my local camera club competition this month and the comment I received was just as you suggested initially, to crop out the grass at the bottom of the frame. I played with that when working on the photo, but ultimately I felt, as you do, that the grass adds to the image so I kept it. What do judges know anyway? :) |

Thank you, Jim. As you and others suggested, I may have reduced the fogginess of the image by adding too much contrast. I appreciate your input. |

Sylvia, I like the way you set up this photo. As Yvonne said, the petals seem to be protecting the interior of the flower, which adds interest to the photo. I think that was a good way to highlight the flower. My suggestion on this would be to lower the power of the flash a little bit, maybe a third, or half a stop. It seems like it may have been too bright and washed out the color and texture of the flower a little bit. |

Jim, I attempted to work on your original photo a little bit, but you were far more successful than I was. I like the image where you have what appears to be one tree wrapping itself around another. And the sunburst at the top highlights the connection of the trees.
As far as cleaning up the noise in the image, I don't really have any suggestions. I'm sure you played with the color noise sliders in addition to the luminance sliders. Beyond that, specific noise reducing software would be my suggestion, but I have no experience with those tools. Anyway, I like how you brought out what you could with the image. |

Douglas, I really think you captured the symmetry and geometry of the tombs very well. It is quite an abstract view of the tomb. After seeing the entire display in your other photo, you saw and captured an interesting portion of the whole exhibit. Nice job! |

Yvonne, you came up with a very creative way to improve your original image. I like the addition of the textures and colors to the final image. I do not know about any companies that create or sell textures, but I encourage you to continue with your experimentation! |

Thank you, Sabine. I had a feeling I was adding too much contrast to this image and taking away some of the fogginess. I like your idea of reducing the contrast to the image. It does help with the fog. |

Sabine, this is really a very beautiful image. I like your creative touches with the blue modifications to the lighting. It really enhances the flower. I think this was very well done! |
