9 Jan 26 Comment This is a great capture of a beautiful sky. The reflections on the water really add to the image. I might suggest cropping either a little bit off the top or bottom of the photo to get the horizon less centered, but that is just a suggestion. It must have been a beautiful night for a walk. 9 Jan 26 Reply Thank you, Jim. I hadn't considered a vignette. I will play around with that idea, as well as other suggestions from the group. Jan 16th
9 Jan 26 Reply Thank you, Yvonne. I agree with Sabine's idea and I will play around a bit more with this.

I do like the images I can get from my Fuji camera. And it is so lightweight, makes it easier for travel than my Nikon, with the heavy lenses I have.

9 Jan 26 Reply Thank you, Douglas. I will adjust the tones of the scene a bit more. Still learning to use new software, but I'm getting there.

Yes, the Pacific Northwest is beautiful. I try to get there as often as I can. I am trying to work out getting there this year.

9 Jan 26 Comment Jim, this is a creative idea. I've never tried (intentionally) turning the zoom ring while the shutter was open. This image reminds me of a view from a kaleidoscope. Very nice image. Jan 14th
9 Jan 26 Comment Sylvia, as the others have said, you have done very well with setting up this still life setting. The image seems a little dark to me, though. I am wondering if a small light pointed toward the background would help. I wouldn't think it would need to be at a high power. It might help make the berries stand out a bit more. Just an idea. Lighting is a subject I am trying to learn, as well. I would be interested in seeing your BTS images. Jan 14th
9 Jan 26 Comment Douglas, you found a good subject to photograph, the chandelier with the books along with the colors in the scene. They highlight the Christmas season. As was mentioned above, you didn't describe what you didn't like about it. I share the thoughts that the background is distracting. I like what Jim did with removing those distractions. Sabine's emphasis with the colors really add to the image. Jan 14th
9 Jan 26 Reply Thank you, Sabine. Mt. Hood in one mountain/volcano in a series of volcanoes to the north and south of this, reaching from California to Canada. They are very prominent features as you drive through the area.

I have been working to get the tones right on this photo and I appreciate your suggestions. The extra contrast does seem to help. Thanks.

9 Jan 26 Reply Thank you, Sylvia. I agree with you on the bright area in the lower right hand corner. I am still working on this to get the tones just right. I appreciate your input. Jan 10th
9 Jan 26 Comment Yvonne, this image certainly has a lot going on with the various lines, dots and circles. Your conversion to black and white really helps highlight your nephew and the various contrasting patterns. It has kind of a surreal feel to the image and almost looks like your nephew is directing the movement of these balloons, with his arms spread wide. What an interesting exhibition. Well done. 9 Jan 26 Comment Sabine, this is a nice cityscape photo. I like it. Everything in the image points to the church tower and the light behind it really highlights it. This is a great catch of a scene you just walked upon. The Miniature Wunderland, based on photos, looks like an interesting place to visit. In fact, the town looks like an interesting place to visit.
