9 May 25 Reply Thank you, Sylvia. I get it, it is important that bridges are inspected and maintained. Closing them could cause significant detours to get to where you want to go. Many people don't think about them until they cannot be used. May 18th
9 May 25 Reply Thank you, Yvonne. I did get lucky with the clouds being in the sky that day, we were just driving through when I saw this. And, it seems, I have been overthinking the shrubs in the foreground. May 18th
9 May 25 Comment Sylvia, it sounds like you had a nice trip. It looks like a nice scene to photograph, with a lot going on. I wonder if the shot was taken with a wider angle would have put it more into perspective. I think the land in the lower right hand corner is interesting, but would like to see more how that fits with the scene. As it is, it takes up a lot of the image. It appears the boat is headed toward the other end of it. Is there a harbor there? I would be interested to see more photos from this trip.

I played around with the photo and cropped it a little tighter to try to bring out the small building a little more. Also tried to remove some of the haze and boost the colors of the trees a little more. Just some ideas.

9 May 25 Comment Jim, I think the edits you have done to this photo have vastly improved it. The colors went from a green-grey to more natural looking. I like the pier going in at a diagonal in the image, which leads further into the photo. The long exposure and smooth water surface add a nice touch of calmness, as Sabine suggested. Nicely done. 9 May 25 Comment Linda, I like what you have done with this photo. Removing distracting elements really brings to focus the subjects. Looking between the original and your edited version, you made good choices in what to keep and what not to. I also like the footprint in the center of the image. Nicely captured scene! May 11th
9 May 25 Reply Thank you, Linda. It is interesting that you commented on what I remember as shrubs in the foreground (could have been something else, it was a number of years ago when I took this). I was concerned they may have been too distracting from the image and that is partially why I converted it to black and white. I submitted this photo to see if I would get any feedback on that. I appreciate your input. May 11th
9 May 25 Reply Thank you, Sabine. This image was taken from a park on the north side of the river that the bridge spans. It allowed me to get this view of it. May 11th
9 May 25 Reply Thank you, Jim. I have attached the color version of this image for reference. I think part of my decision to covert to b&w was because I thought the shrubs in the foreground were too distracting (plus, I like black and white photography). Maybe I am overthinking them. May 11th
9 May 25 Comment Yvonne, you brought out the cherry blossoms quite a bit with your editing from the original. The light, pink blossoms remind me of a flowering plum tree I had in my yard. Personally, I am not sure I would have chosen the background color you have, but my wife does like it. It reminds her of Japanese art and I think it does help bringing out the flowers from the original. May 11th
9 May 25 Comment Doug, this is a nicely composed photo. I like the framing of the front flower with the two behind it and the vibrancy of the colors in the image. As Linda suggested, I would be interested in how you edited this photo. Jim's suggestion to remove the bright spots (white flowers?) does help keep the focus on the 3 tulips. May 11th
9 May 25 Comment Sabine, you've brought out a lot of life in this photo from your original. I, too, like the vibrancy of the colors that you have brought out. The architecture of the building in this scene is interesting makes me want to see other portions of it. You are right, there is a lot to take in in this scene. It is easy to find new things to look at. I'm wondering if your 14mm lens would work here as I just want to see more. May 11th
