Stephen, hello to a welcome visitor from Group 32; I to visit the other Monochrome groups. I'm sure you and you grand-kids will love the Udvar-Hazy Center; don't be surprised if you are unable to see everything in one visit. You can't miss the SR-71 Blackbird as it is central to all the exhibits.
Please have fun at the museum!

Cindy, hello, this is a beautiful image, well captured and processed. Your image conforms to the rule of odds; I tried a crop conforming to the rule of threes, but I don't think it's and improvement. Very nice work. |

Lorna, hello; I've made many attempts the capture the beauty of nature, and I've found my least success has been with Landscapes.
In my imagination landscape photography is a form of sandwich making: foreground (pleasant but not overpowering), midground (typically the midground contains the main subject, must be in focus, and easily read in contrast to the other layers), topped with the background (majestic, distant, but does not overshadow the midground subject)
I typically use a wide angel lens as it provides separation of the layers, and depth of field. There is an art to capturing landscapes with a telephoto lens, but it's not for the faint of heart; I have not mastered that art, maybe you could help me. All the best. |

James, great subject. The warm glow of the lights in the color original are difficult to capture in a B&W conversion.
Did you also capture a vertical shot giving the statue at the top of the dome more room and emphasis? |

Paul, hello, great subject. The original color image has a similar tonal values throughout the image; I tried pushing the range of the background to make the emblem stand out, but I'm not happy with my results.
