Paul, lots of texture in the base if the windmill; I agree B&W was a great choice for this subject.
If you do revisit this subject, in addition to striving for more background separation, you might try low angle shots to maximize the impact of this subject. Have fun with it.

James, very nice capture and B&W conversion. This image conveys motion (the angle of the front wheel, the flame accents, and the trails in the sky). A strong image; great work.

Lorna, great use of geometry, and repetition. The removal of the lights made for a works well, perhaps removing the sign would also strengthen the image.
If you still have access to this sight the are may angles of view to experiment with here.

Ger, congratulations on your new family member; she is a beautiful addition. Eyes and fur nice and sharp, not always easy with a kitten (she is well adjusted). I hope to see her again as she grows. |

Cindy, you've captured the beaty in the workmanship of the fenders and grillwork. What focal length did you use?
Great image (I think the hood ornament is an elephant, on hind legs with its trunk extended up, a subject in itself). Thanks for sharing this. |

Sam, hello, and welcome to Group 50. Your subject has a contemplative expression gives me the impression she is look through a window on the right of the frame. A version of this image with the window more defined, and the background de-emphasize (darker and softer).
What do you think? |
