Great iPhone shot… who needs macro lenses anymore. For me the petals on the flower are over processed resulting in a noticeable fringing on the edges … I think the definition of the leaves is good in the original and the image is a bit too sharpened for me. |

I really appreciate your original which provides the full context of your image of these ancient structures. I agree that the concrete building on the right could be cropped out. Your composition is very appealing and makes the viewer look at the image in detail to find lots of interesting features.. the trees, the tower, the tunnel, the full width of the river etc. the cyclist also adds a sense of scale to the whole scene. Well captured !!! |

Terry, I am no expert in flower photography so my comment is a very personal observation. In answering your question, I think the background of your original is more in keeping with the 'old' theme… pink for me denotes freshness and life. |

Lovely image , nice composition. I think cropping out the tree was a good idea. I prefer the colour version .. the hats are a strong distraction the mono but add to the tone balance in the other.
On my monitor the faces don't appear to be sharp… that may not be the case in your original. |

This type of shot is very difficult to achieve with lighting that is flickering and changing colour all the time and constant movement on the stage. I think you've done well here. I presume your crop on the right hand side was to hide the drum kit. I think you are correct in your reflection. For me a bit more of the frame behind the base player would be better. You've managed to get all three band members into the shot and that misty tone reflects the reality of these gigs. |

I like this image,Paul, you've shown the entire facade with great clarity and definition. I enjoy the symmetrical composition and I think your image captures the power and authority of the institution it houses.,Well done !!! |

Looks like an opportunity to capture disharmony and disdain between these two … like a moment from a soap opera. Well managed ! |

This is a lovely image, capturing a joyful moment in this performance. I much prefer the mono version as the essence of the image is the musician, his concentration and his expression which are all present in the mono…. Really sharp image. I find the lighting to the left is quite distracting and recognising that the lighting surely made it a challenging shot. You might consider a tighter crop on the left and also of the out of focus foreground elements…. Still giving you a square crop. .. well done |

Great capture….For me this is one of those images that demands attention and the more one looks at it the more is revealed and the more interesting it becomes. Agree with Lorna that the natural side lighting is really effective in drawing the viewer into the image. The bud is perfectly sharp and detailed. Clearly you took this image in nature … you've handled it so well as you do with the controlled environment of your still life shots.
Considering Lorna's question, I wonder how it would look if your camera was a bit lower …. You could still get the bud and the stem and there might be less distraction from the leaves. |

Super texture in the mono particularly. I think you handled the lighting very well also. Well focussed… without bracketing….beautiful image. The colour version would make a lovely backdrop for a product promotion eg cosmetics or jewellery. |
