Right about "Ed's edits." I've never done a clone like that (of the windows) before, so I didn't even think of doing it ... Hurrah for DD32 and a "new guy." |

You're right, Diana: I would never have figured out what the pattern was from. |

As is common in DD32: "more contrast" is the word. I like Somdutt's contrast rendition best. But you're still the best when it comes to vintage subjects, Tom. |

Your B&W conversion and cropping "made" the picture. Very nice. |

An environmental portrait. Wonderful. The mono conversion really "makes" the image.
My son just returned from three weeks in India. As he traveled, he sent photos every couple days. This looks like the ones he sent. Both he and I like pictures of the people in their daily activities, just as yours.
The woman's facial expression is a story in itself. |

My first impression, the lean of the tower, was addressed by Stephen.
I think if the right side bothers you, you could add canvas and then clone into it since
there is nothing that I see that would be a problem doing so.... Maybe when you get to the white chapel, but it's sky to the right of it and that eliminates the problem as it becomes a bit more tricky clone. Such an interesting subject: an old graveyard and the local church. At first I though to increase the white in the clouds, but that would take away the eye-catching chuch. They are fine as is. |

When I first saw this picture, and before reading about it, I said: "Third World Country" electric infrastructure. Then I got it. But then the college sports rivalry between Utah and Whyoming kicked in and said "third world" again. Enough of that.
A very well done image compositionally and tonality (after the B&W conversion.) Maybe an Alley Cat? Anyway, the mono is much more interesting than the color. |

I love white subjects, especially those on white such as yours. Why? because they are so difficult and they emulate my style which is b&w. Environmental nature shots are so much more interesting that caged (or zoo). Re the weather: I don't think the shot would be as nice if it were one of those brilliant sunny days you mentioned. |

Good suggestion. I had not thought about doing it. I like it. Thanks and welcome to the Group.
In regarding to symmetry, a tripod helps. It gives you the opportunity to study your view finder and move about in a more structured manner. The tripod also helps when taking low light pictures like this one. |
