They were stationed for a while at Ft Hood, but not anymore. Thanks.
Speaking of the "4th" I was in the 4th Armored Cavalry Recon Bn (Sep.) in
Austria. The 4th A/C was disbanded when the Peace Treaty was signed in 1955
and I got assigned in Germany. |

I guess that's the difference between an artistic portrayal and photojournalism. |

I agree with your thoughts of extending down and to the right. Nicely composed, sharp, certainly indicative of the Maine coastal weather. I can imagine that this image will get some criticism for the foggy day's light, but others will like it. I like it. |

You describe "the learning process" both for horticulture and photography. Learn by doing. I like the faded items in the background vs. a fabric or matte.

The backdrop certainly indicates a posed shot; and if in competition, likely in PhotoJournalism, that is not permitted. I don't think it would matter if in Pictorial Print (which is open).... Otherwise it's a nicely composed and exposed shot, very sharp. |

A difficult lighting situation, but not a bad picture. Nice conversion FROM color. Well done. |

Well done. I like the strong contrast and the elimination of all that's not part of the story i.e., red, reflections.
I had a '31 A. this looks like it's been customized since I don't recall the grid. The radiator cap looks contemporary, but only on the de luxe models. (Mine didn't have one); and they were targets for theft by teenagers in my vintage.
But in those days, nothing mattered but transportation.
Nice restoration.
