Great work, Dawn! I love this one and have no comments at all. The pre- and post-editing is nice; it seems like a new development compared to the previous photo. The vignetting and dodge & burn are just right. I have only one wish, if I could remove the cloud in the right corner. haha. |

Nice to meet you, Tom. Welcome to Group 93. Japanese aesthetics are always my favorite because of their beauty. I am disappointed with this edition as there isn't enough contrast to separate the subject from the background, along with the light and lighting. I'm working on synchronizing all my gear, color profiles, and editing workflow to see if I can get everything to perform well. Thank you for your suggestion.

I agree about the exposure balance, which is affected by the incorrect color calibration of the monitor. Currently, the image feels too flat to me, with not enough contrast and an improper balance of highlights and shadows. |

Thanks, Ed. I agree about the overexposed foreground. I've found some issues and new practices with my new gear (both the camera and monitor) regarding highlights and shadows. Let me have the chance to share more after I fine-tune it someday.

Hi Francois, nice to e-meet you! Welcome to Group 93. Yes, blossom is on my list too. Blossoms are always stunningly beautiful in nature, but they can be challenging to edit in post-production. I hope to share more about fine-tuning blossoms with you someday! |
