I agree that this image works best in black and white. I like the different layers in the image with water, the lighthouse, fog, mountains, and clouds. At first before I read what you wrote I thought the water was actually sand since I have seen some black sand beaches with lighthouses. This misconception must be due to the image file size. Once I relooked at it I could tell it was water. |

I love the contrast of colors in this photograph. I also like how you caught the eye in the V of the tree branches. I feel that the left of the photo could have been cropped on the long edge as the leg and body of the lizard distracts from the eye in the branches and I have to pull my focus back to that focal point. |

Hi Craig,
The clarity of the texture on the owls feathers is fantastic. He/She just looks so fluffy! I also like how the eyes are clear. I also agree with cropping out the tree on the left, but I like the green of the background on the upper right. |

Hi Alan,
I love the Palouse. I recently rode my motorcycle through parts of the Palouse earlier this month. I love the photograph that you have here. I like the creek that winds it's way through the hills and leads to the farmhouse. I agree with removing the lone tree on the left. It also would have been nice to highlight the farmhouse a little bit as the shadows kind of hide it, yet the creek leads right to it. Otherwise I love the capture of the green of the growing field. |

Josh,
I like the overall composition of this photograph. The highlights on the purple flowers and the meadow go well with crisp starburst that you were able to get get. Additionally, I like the lower light on the mountains in the background. For me, this draws my eye from front to back through the middle of the photograph but I also feel like I can "feel" the grass that the flowers are in as the textures feel crisp. |
