This is a good subject, and your colleagues seem, as I do, to agree that the background detracts from the subject. For shots like this in the future, try walking around the subject to see what different backgrounds look like. If you had moved to the right, maybe the background would have been only that curtain. |

This is a classic façade shot. I really like it. great angular contrast with the fire escapes. I particularly like the triple-layer arches over every window and door.
It's interesting that you visit this site regularly. Is there a time of day when there are sunlight shadows on this side of the building? |

The successful separation of the three layers is the best feature of this. It's a very pleasurable image to look at again and again. |

True, my "infrared effect" button is quite weak.
I find the contrasts you suggested too much for my taste, but agree that my b/w was a bit muddy. Since I liked my sky, I selected the bottom 60% of the image and tried to adjust its contrast per you suggestion. How is this? |

This is a charming shot of a common site of the large southern trees.

Nice shot of early dereliction of both the building and truck. I can't make any suggestions, as everything looks right. |

The cool background definitely contributes to the shot.
Her shoulder and legs may be a bit too bright, compare to her neck and face a bit too dark? |

In my Group 32, we have occasionally discussed the importance of titles. For me, a good title is very important. Your title makes it clear that this is a memory of your Mom, and abundantly so. It is quite implied that she wore a different sweater every day. In fact, if you had no title, I would have clearly understood this was a memory of someone's Mom. It is a very sensitive image and a good memory of your Mom. |

Very clever way to deal with the subject.
Well done to make the man small in the overall composition.
I also like that the man is peeing next to a drain pipe that normally carries away waste. |

Thank you for the visit to Borobudur. I took my family there 40 years ago, so it is nice to see it again. |

Yes the hand gestures are important. I googled it. Here is one result: Abhaya Mudra (Fearlessness/Protection): Right hand raised, palm facing out, fingers up, symbolizing peace, reassurance, and dispelling fear. |

You caught a fascinating moment on an unusual skyline. I have never seen window-washing cranes like that. So architecturally interesting. Thanks for taking us there. |
