Thank you, Tom. I am following your and Wes's models of telling good stories about the interesting places you visit and photograph. I really like the story-telling about what we are all shooting, as well as how we feel about it, how we get the picture, and compositional comments. But above all, I think I am enjoying most the stories about the places. |

Good point, a little to the left would have been better. We might revisit the ancestral home next summer, and I will try shooting there again. |

Good image and I appreciate the extra information about the judges.
How about telling more of the story? What are the rules that the rider must follow? |

A classic diagonal composition.
I think I would have included the entire back end of the closest cannon (the spade, I looked up the part name) as it touches the ground, especially since it is not visible on any other of the cannons. |

This is an extremely adventurous editing job. So very different from your original. I have no idea if there was another way to treat it, but your result is an eye grabber.
I would like to know your shutter speed. What would be the result of a slightly slower shutter speed? Would it show the shaking motion? Would it blur the droplets to any good effect? |

I double Som's and Wes's entire comments. Nothing more for me to add about this fine shot. |

I would not have thought of it had you not mentioned the eyes, but can you get the very small areas of the whites of the eyes to be brighter?
Otherwise, this is a good street shot. Although it might be better if you had got in the entire flag the singer is waving. |
