I like your shot.
If you want to weaken the perspective a little (I would leave some of the upward angle), you can do it with PS Skew. |

Good point about the green door. I had not even noticed its potential as a focal point.
Yes, I too love the vicarious travel, both in our group and in all the other groups I visit. |

Glad you liked the color. I had no idea it was any good. As usual, I am surprised when I hear positive comments about an image I throw up, saying to myself, "Oh, well, this is all I have (or found in my archives); I will see what the Group suggests for improvement." |

Thanks. I showed that one in this group once, but it's really better in color, showing the splendid summer sky color in Istanbul. |

The final result is great, especially that comical tongue. |

That would make a difference. I think no one would notice the tiny bit of the window frame between the feathers. Great eye you had to see this for monochrome and a tighter crop. |

Fine shot. Where was this? We have two of our children living in Seattle, and on one visit, our youngest daughter took me to a tiny salmon creek entirely contained in a city park, where we saw the dying salmon. It came out to Puget Sound in just a few hundred yards, where photographers has set up tripods to try to shoot the salmon as they moved out of the Sound and into the creek. |

Tom makes a great point, about the pattern of the highs and lows. Now that I see that, I think it has a powerful compositional impact, but subtle. I think it speaks to our unconscious minds, like a Beethoven melody, if I may suggest. |

Good discussion about the cropping. I will chip in for no reason that I might have preferred a tiny bit more of body, so that the roundness of the back stopped rising and went level. |

I think this is really stunning. The angle is great. I really like night shots, and with a great deal of black. I also think the original shot was a good composition.
I have learned from others in this group to put a white stroke around images with a lot of black, to differentiate the image from the black display area on the Digital Dialog website. In PS, do a select all, then edit/stroke. |

Great shot.
Lance, what a wonderful quote from Wynn Bullock, one of my favorite photographers. I have a poster of his famous "Let There be Light" image (from the MOMA Family of Man exhibit), which I purchased directly from his daughter a couple of years ago. |
