Good job copying and flipping.
That also works well for interiors where you can't step back far enough to take everything in. Just shoot one side of a church interior and do the same trick. |

You have a very good eye for spotting this. It is an interesting arrangement of rectangles and triangles (and squares and trapezoids).
I suggest a tiny bit of straightening, like this. |

Here is a little skew-ing to make the right side vertical. I ordinarily am against such distortions, but in this case, I think a vertical alteration looks better.
As to the variable number of lamps and faces, they make sense architecturally because there are three portals with three heads above them, and hence four sides where the lamps are hung.
I agree with Tom's cropping suggestion.
Is this EPA here in DC? Have you even been in the Interior building? It has Ansel Adams prints six feet high in the main hallway. |

I love going traveling with everyone else in our group getting around the country.
The finished look is perfect. |

What interesting things one sees getting out and around.
This looks great, and the details are clear. I am just blown away by such an outlandish get-up. |

The rule of a quality image for me is this: do I want to keep looking at it again and again. This image very much satisfies the rule for me. I find it almost mystic, with its bright haze, vague tree, and the tiger with its crisp highlight across its back.
I am also impressed with the proportions, that the tiger is small in its natural environment, yet very distinct.
So here is the full text of the William Blake poem:
The Tyger (1794)
William Blake
Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp,
Dare its deadly terrors clasp!
When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry? |

This is a fascinating composition. I really like the effect.
As to depth of field, although I have never used one, you might consider a tilting lens to adjust to a receding plane of sharp focus. They are very expensive. My son's friend rented one to shoot my son's wedding, and he reported that he loved it. Of course the ultimate is a view camera with bellows, allowing shifting as well as tilting. |

Yes, I agree with that assessment.
But I think I am going to work on the monochrome tones some more, and see if I can get something better. At least that is my intent. |

I recognized the title reference right away. Very clever idea, and a fine finished composition. |

Hello Alan,
My wife and I made a visit there just a few years ago, and we remember it well. If I recall, your image might be going down to the lower level area for ablutions?
I think you have done a fine job placing your single man into this handsome geometric situation. The lights and darks are just great. |

I love everything about this, but I think it could be cropped closer. What do you think? |
