This is really interesting--how far you progressed from the original to the final--it's quite impressive. |

Oh my, yes! I like that so much better. But now I have to ask how you did that. I tried a bit with PS, but could not obtain such a nice solution, so I did not have anything to show you. If it is not too complicated, can you explain the steps. You managed to correct most of the lean without losing any of the view--I did not think that was possible. |

Hello, Michael, and welcome to our group. We have been running for a number of years now, and the monochrome focus has been very instructive for me.
I can't quite orient myself to this shot. Can you explain your photographer's point of view, and where the motor show man is located and what he is doing? Also, can we see the original, especially if you cropped this image down?
You caught a good expression on the gentleman's face, and you have a great depth of field. I love his motor cap--it's just what I would expect. |

I think the background darkening is perfect. But can we see th4e original? I would like to see how far this has evolved from the original. |

So very creative. I prefer the mono to the color. Very nice sky. |

Now I see how you cropped. This comes down to individual taste. I like how you cut off the fresh daisy, but I would have cut less, although still cut, maybe leaving 5% of the blossom out of the frame--you have a daring idea there. If the leaf behind and the flower below showed, then I would have dimmed them. |

This is a wonderful view of a fantastic place, and your wide angle lens frames a great view of geometric architecture.
However, the inevitable leaning of the verticals is uncomfortable to the eye. Can you adjust in PS, or consider taking multiple shots and stitching them together? |

Again, as so often before, we are seeing the mono image looking so much better than the color. This always amazes me. (I am so glad I joined this group.) As far as I can tell, it's because the color shot does not tell a color story, but the mono image tells a story about light and dark. You have got the whites very intense without losing detail on the wheel and axle. This is a fine interpretation of the original scene. I really don't know about competitions, but I sure like this. |

Lynne, let's see your original, to see how you chose your crop. |
