Hi Peter,
I am visiting from Group 32, also monochrome. Would you be willing to show your original color shot AND the first version in monochrome, to show the progression from the shot as taken to this final version?
Thanks,

Half-serous comment: now that you have escaped the toils of PJ restrictions, can you add a little puff of dust coming up from the right front hoof where it is striking the ground? |

Carol, you give us a lot to ponder, showing four stages of this image. The HDR looks very natural--it avoids the "other-worldly" look that some HDRs have. Original 2 show a good color shot, in which color is a suitable subject. I have truly mixed reactions to the washed effect and the border--but I really mean that. They are new to me, so that makes me not sure. On the other hand, they are interesting effects to experiment with, and you do great experimentation. The rendition into monochrome is very good--great detail everywhere and a perfect angle to shoot the diagonally positioned boat.
As I so often ask, I want to know the focal-length of the lens and how far you were from the near end of the boat. And did you have to correct any lean in the building verticals? |

This is a very clever and unique point of view. I also like the extreme depth of field. What focal length lens were you using? |

Nice shot. I like the cropping, with the upright placed at the edge of the frame. The rider looks like she knows her business, particularly setting her gaze about 30 feet straight ahead--the horse can sense the rider's anticipation of where they are going. |

Clouds and mountain look great. But the foreground looks a little dark to me. Can you lighten it a bit, but still keeps the distant mountain the brightest? I suspect this is a delicate balance. |
