Kirk, I love the composition - especially the ruins on the horizon. I think it might have been slightly improved if you aimed a bit more to the right to get the full thickness of the fence posts and a smidgen of green grass in the right side. |

Frans, you did a beautiful job in your postprocessing! The original image would daunt many photographers. What I like most is that you took illuminance, contrast, and vibrance/saturation to a beautiful level without "over hyping" it. looks natural - like you were blessed with perfect atmospherics! |

Bradford, this is an extremely difficult shot with no luminance of color separation between subject and background. There is a bit of focus softening on the background, but not enough. The only idea I have is to back way up maybe 3-4 times as far away and shoot at 150-200mm, with the lowest f-number possible. But then, I don't know if you can even get that angle without buildings and people interfering. If you have adequate software, could you select the dolphins, then invert the selection, and then use Gaussian or lens blur on the background? |

Geoff, This is a perfect capture of a "blood moon". Looks like its close to the horizon. I wonder how this might work, copy/pasting the moon onto a night skyline shot? |

Pierre, I love this photo as-is! I love the ice formation in the foreground, and the softly lit background (shoreline) is wonderful. Perfect control of contrast and tone. The power and punch really comes through. |
