Kirk, beautiful photo. One minor change I would tend to do. I might either back up slightly to get more of the branch (upper right) in the frame, or move forward and remove it. But that's just taste. |

Frans, I just love the image as is! I'd love to sit down by your computer and watch what you did. Incredible how well you pulled it off! |

Kathryn, Very nice image. I made a couple changes (cropped some of the right and the sky). But I increased the contrast and luminance of the little town on the point. I think it helps show that area. |

Scott, Very interesting perspective! Good subject. I'd just check one detail in post-processing. When I viewed your image full screen on my laptop, there was significant "outlining" at dark/light transitions (especially where the sky meets the building on the right side). It can be symptomatic of having the "pixel radius" too large when sharpening the image. If you had a radius of 2 or 3 pixels, you might try "1 pixel" radius. Otherwise very good. |

Pierre, I love the scene. The soft, quiet feel. Beautiful composition! I tend to push for a bit more punch, but it's just personal taste. I took the image into Adobe Camera Raw and increased the contrast, clarity, and moved the black level down till I just touched the black warning indicator. It changes the feel. Not better, not worse - just different, just taste.
But your image is wonderful as it is! |
