Gloria, no - I didn't use a tripod. It's all I can do tracking birds in flight by free holding the camera! I save tripods for waterfalls, night skies, and flower close-ups. |

Kathy, this is a tough shot. A well camouflaged bird in its environment. I tried to see if I could separate the bird from the background - i.e. defeating perfect natural camo! After much sausage making in Adobe ACR, I got something different, but probably no better. That's a really tough shot. |

Sarita, the detail and color of the bird's feathers, plus the pose, are wonderful. The simple composition (bird, reflection, water) is a great combination. No other distracting detail. |

Grace, your bright bird, contrasted with the dark background, are dramatic! And the reflection under the bird makes it perfect. |

Gloria, the haze and soft lighting together set a wonderful mood for the shot, and the birds are wonderfully posed. This was a case where having everything (close and distant) in sharp focus worked very well. |

Gerhard, between the luminance and color of the bird, it perfectly separates it from the environment. And the softness of the background combined with the sharpness of the ripples in the foreground really works. Excellent. |

Isaac, wonderful drama - chick demanding food, the parent obediently bringing lunch, and a tiny fish thinking "On no!" I love the interplay! |
