I think your woodstork image is excellent. Your flash system must be extremely powerful!.
I think eventually any suggestions merely reflect personal taste rather than improvement. I took the image into PS-CC and swizzled a few settings which only reflect my taste. I cut the exposure 0.15 EVs, increased the contrast +40, and cut back the highlights back by -100. Before editing, the PS luminance alert lit up on the bird's left shoulder. I got an image I liked slightly more. But that's just taste. |

Sarita, This is a perfect capture - a perfect pose. You even got a dragonfly above the head of the heron! Wonderful shot. At risk of sounding critical, I put your image into Adobe PS-RAW and tried a few edits. I don't know this is any better, just different. I took highlights down 60, black down 50, texture up 30, clarity up 10, and dehaze up 15. Then re-cropped to portrait shape. It's a possibility. |
