I like this Ally. I played around with it in Lightroom and decided I like your softer focus for the background. I might crop a bit of the really soft area off of the top as it pulled my eye away from the bird. Love the three layers in the image. |

I like the perspective and love the reflection! I opened the image in LR and used a mask for the train (as the subject) to increase the clarity and texture, lightened the shadows a bit and decreased the highlights a bit...then I cropped the image to put more focus on the train. Again - a different perspective. |

Great depth of field and perspective. I often find myself on my stomach or back to get an angle so I can appreciate your efforts for this image. This is a great example of a leading lines image. |

I am a sunflower lover, and I love images from "behind" and "below." For a different look - I rotated the image to have the stem come from the bottom left corner and then cropped tightly into the image. Just a different perspective. |

Ah you caught the ice pick movement. That is part of what I loved about this image...giving a sense of movement as opposed to being static. |

Thanks Nancy. Ironic that we were just discussing the entry of diptych and tritych images in our Club competitions. I have never really created those, but might try with some of these images (or some of my son's climbing images). Great suggestion. |

Thanks Carole. This is not my son; however, my son is a big-time climber. It is beautiful and breathtaking to watch accomplished climbers. I like the contrast of a short sleeve shirt on a clearly very cold winter day with the frozen waterfall. I agree that including the other images provides context for the main image. |

Thank you Ally. I tried black and white for some of the images, but really like the bright colors contrasting with the ice. The black and white worked best with a tight crop on the climber and when pushing the details in the ice surrounding the climber. |

Thank you Bunny. Tech details: f/8; 1/1000 sec.; ISO 160; 170mm; handheld. This was such a spontaneous fun photo opportunity. My son has become an avid climber (especially liking the ice climbing). It is an incredible sport - although a bit heart stopping when your child is sharing dramatic vertical drop climbing photos (smile). |
