Love the black and white to make this a very graphic image. I also like the feathered look around the outer perimeter working towards that tack sharp center area. Great contrast that works well. Nice job! |

Hi Nancy...I played around with cropping and rotating the image to remove some of the background and focus more on the flower. In LR I also tried to play with the greens - darkened the background with a mask and played with the subject in a second mask to get shades of green (yellowish- green perhaps but I would call it monochromatic). |

This is cool Connie. I have never captured lightning. I also like the border...although I played with cropping and lost it (sorry). I cropped to remove the bit of tree poking in on the right side and to remove a bit of the trees on the left. |

Bunny - how fun. I love it! It is so Bryan Peterson...made even more special with his passing. I especially love the reflection. If I cropped it, I would probably crop a bit from the top, a tad from the left, and remove one panel width from the right....see below. That said, I might still prefer more space to the right to reinforce Bryan's movement through the frame. |

Carole the layering is beautiful, especially for a monochromatic image. This reminds me of some of my images from the Shenandoah National Park.
I agree about removing the branches and maybe cropping a bit of the bottom of the image. |

Thank you Nancy. I do love his expression as well as the sharpness/definition. The whole background mask tool is great in terms of having lots of control over the amount of adjustment(s). |

Agree with all of the comments about darkening the background. No fence; however shot through glass with lots of smudges. :) |

Thanks Bunny. Ironically, I recently used a background mask for some social media day college lacrosse photos for the same effect. So, it is interesting that darkening the background for this image did not cross my mind. Your revision does a nice job of making Rafferty stand out more and removing the distracting highlights. |

Thank you Connie. I like the brighter whites, especially combined with a darker background. |

I agree with the background suggestion, even more so after seeing Bunny's rendition. |
