My first thought was that this shows a cog wheel, I love the minimalist conception. It's all about colour and shape. I agree with Ian - we worry far too much about sharpness, often to the detriment of feeling. |

This is very good. I like the simplicity of it. The offset real lion face is a lovely touch that lifts the whole picture and I like the change of colour to 'lion' colours. |

An interesting photograph exploring shapes and lines. I love the suspended droplets of water and the way the lines move towards the background. I think the composition could be stronger if there was a little separation between the fountain and the stanchion of the bridge. Also I would remove the notice. Both would strengthen the picture, I think. |

Without the title I would not have known what this is, but that doesn't matter for it to be a good picture. I initially read this as an abstract , playing with tones, shapes and textures. For me, that what it is since I struggle to see the bear. A very interesting photograph. |

The tones of this are lovely. The flower is strong and in a good position. I like the way you have cropped the pads to frame the main subject and hold everything in. We don't need to see all of the pads to complete tha picture and for them to fulfil their role. Well done. |

Peter, this is brilliant. You couldn't set it up better. I love the fact that each of the characters (this is like a story book illustration) is doing her own thing . Even the teddy bear seems to be meditating. I like the way you have cropped the shot symmetrically and as a finishing touch you have teacups on the top of the bookcase. There is so much to read into this shot, so much for the imagination. I rarely say this - but I wish I had shot this. It would do well in international exhibitions and I bet the London Salon would like it. The smartphone is becoming a great tool for street and candid photography. Fabulous. |

I had no idea there was such a thing as International Lighthouse day. His 1000 yard stare speaks to the solitude and loneliness of the lighthouse keeper's life. The texture of his clothes, the ruggedness of his face and the paraphenalia around him echo the bleakness and hardness of such a life. A great environmental portrait. I love his hat. I had one like it but lost it after doing a portraiture class at a camera club. |

Another beautiful flower; and yet it is more than a flower. It is an abstract explosion of lines, shape and tones. By isolating it against a black background it isn't a simple flower picture but becaomes a more powerful metaphor. Oddly, I have been experimenting with something similar but haven's matched your elegant black and white yet. |
