Yes - there have been times I would like to have sliced Aviva. Seriously, though , this is an interesting way to deal with this sort of subject. I agree with Joan, it might be interesting to move some slices up or down. |

This gives the effect of chain mail sweeping from her head. I love the metallic look you have achieved, and I must say the 'new' hair suits her face more that her own. |

Ian, you are quite right; I should have explained more, so I'll do so now.
The background swirling image is from a photograph of bonfire flames. This was merged with one of the many sea images I have (living close to so many beaches). The clock face (from a clock in a National Trust building - I think Buckland Abbey where Francis Drake lived), the tree and the barbed wire are from my "elements" folder that I keep for when making this sort of image. The figure is a young woman I photographed many times. She kindly let me take a variety of "library" images for this sort of purpose. The picture started with the background shape suggesting somewhere to place a figure. These composites grow as I'm doing them, rather than being pre-planned. Once the figure was in place I played with various elements until coming to the image you see. For some reason it suggested time travel to me, hence the title. Clocks are a recurrent theme with me, as are lonely, anonymous figures and trees. I have no idea why - and am not sure I want to know. I hope this helps. |

Another photograph which demonstrates what a great observer you are. You have caught the perfect moment when the man is pointing and his arm takes our eye to the shuttle. There is much to enjoy here - for example the child on the right, as is the way with little boys, has had his attention pulled away by something else, out of shot on the left. |

A great slice of time from a different culture. I find the man on the right has, with the face of his pillion, a very determined look. He's on a mission. A good composition. |

A lovely graphic and yet also tonally lovely image. I like the gentle representation of something that is, in many ways, so fragile - as are we who drink from such vessels. You capture much more than a simple representation of an object, with your still life photos. |
