The clean compositing and the variation in colours help to make this a really interesting, albeit quite surreal, picture. In a sense the variation in sharpness lends depth. |

This is a tale of two pictures, right and left, but the reflection enhances and multiplies the lines and people in a subtle and interesting way. It all hangs on the still point of the couple, in the middle third, who are not blurred by movement because they are standing in conversation. The eye roves around because there is so much to enjoy but then comes back to the still point before setting off again. |

You can never tell, these days if this is a homeless couple with all their belongings in two bags or a happy suburban pair who have just been shopping. This picture raises questions - which is good - and, whatever they are, you tell a story about them. |

With the removal of recognisable subject matter an abstract photograph relies on shape, line, texture and tone. This picture ticks all the boxes, and the quality of the black and whites is an added bonus. |

I like the sparseness of this, and the tension at the moment of falling, a tension that might be increased if it were a glass of wine rather than a pear! Technically lovely tones. I don't mind the highlights. |
