97 Jan 26 Reply Thank you for your the kind comment. Your crop version seems
better to me than Roy's one. In the bottom there was a little mound before the buzzard, and I didn't want to cut its legs with the foreground from the picture. In the original raw file there was more space behind the bird.

97 Jan 26 Comment This is a fantastic portrait Butch! I too was impressed by the beauty of this bird. Once you look into its eyes you simply cannot escape. Jan 18th
97 Jan 26 Comment This is a fantastic moment Roy! You were fortunate to capture them. I also see some blurry parts when I click on the picture to see the original size. My advice would be to first do the resizing process, and then sharpen the image. Jan 18th
97 Jan 26 Comment Great shot Peter! The young woodpeckers seem to be just as surprised to see each other, as you must have been to see two different kinds on the same tree. In Butch's version I believe the whites are too bright on the great woodpecker chick .However I also think the lightened shadows on the green woodpecker chick look better. Moreover I would using Lightroom do some linear gradient masking to darken the corner on the upper right. Jan 18th
97 Jan 26 Comment Wonderful and colorful birds in a perfect shot. This shutter time captured this single instant in the best way possible.Congratulations! Jan 18th
97 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Roy, I am afraid that with this crop the bird would not have enough space to stand up, if she were to wish so. :D Jan 18th
97 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Butch, the prey was behind the small mound. The buzzard caught sight of another of its own kind. And immediately started defending it with her wings. Jan 18th
97 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Peter for your kind advice. Unfortunately the prey was behind a small mound. The feet of the buzzard were also behind that, and that is why I did not wish to cut more from the bottom of the picture. Jan 18th
97 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Deborah for your advice. I am going to try making the suggested crop. Jan 18th
