Welcome in the group Deborah! You had a great opportunity to photograph these penguins and this is a spectacular moment with the jumping birds. I made a crop following Peter's advice in which the birds are in different phases of jumping. Butch's version looks better, but in competitions it is prohibited to remove details from the original file. |

The colors of the bird are fantastic, despite the gloomy dark weather. Also you did a good job with selectively correcting the exposure on the bird. It creates a great contrast between the subject and the gray sky. The only thing I dislike is the lack of space above the head of the bird.( This is my personal opinion) |

You shot a fantastic moment Peter. It is unfortunate that the shutter speed was not enough to take a sharper image of the bird. I suppose there was only a small amount of light in this situation, because the ISO was in 5000. |

Roy first I was surprised by the beak of the flamingo, that is turned towards the observer. On the second take however I was impressed by the sharpness of every detail and the fantastic colors of the bird. To me this is a very artistic photo! |

Thank you Peter! I tried to make best of the opportunities granted by Bence"s hide. Not every jury member approves of the fact that only the interplay of darkness and backlight is highlighted in the picture. |
