Thank you for showing us Europeans this brightly colored, wonderful bird that we don't get to see on our continent. It was expertly captured. |

I agree with Roy's version. On the original image, the background is a bit distracting. It does not give us enough separation from the bird. |

The shot shows off the behavior of the bird waiting for its prey in a beautiful manner. I would not crop the image any further. I prefer to have some space before the bird. |

A great action shot Peter! This shot highlights the playful nature of Jays. The crop is perfect. |

Thank you Butch. There are as many cropping preferences, as there are photographers. |

Thank you for your suggestions, Peter.Unfortunately I couldn't go closer to the bird, because it was in the middle of a tern colony. As the bird was photographed on the nest, in some nature photography competitions it would be disqualified . |

Thank you Roy for your advice. I made a developing process again, I tried to selectively lighten the chick, but if a cut Cu this small is made, then 90% of the raw file would be lost. Cropping the image to portrait orientation, would keep 50% of the original image. |

Thank you for the comment. Sadly, I couldn't go nearer to the Grebe as it was in the middle of a bird colony. |
