Thank you Kathleen, that is a male nightingale, he was defending his territory, fighting with other small birds. But the opened tail look like a skirt - that is why the picture has this title. |

Thank you Butch, I recreated the same crop, and the picture indeed looks better. Unfortunately adding a vignette or darkening the background is not allowed everywhere. In Hungary, in most nature photo competitions, we have to upload the raw file of the picture so the jury can control the changes. |

I congratulate you for taking this photo! It is difficult to capture birds mid flight, as they are chasing their prey. In addition the composition is great, and there is plenty of space in front of the bird. |

This bird was nicely captured at the moment of taking off. I like the colors of the reeds in the background. |

What a marvelous picture! You did a fine job shooting the landing of the owl. In Hungary we are permitted to use flashlights in bird photography. Certain birds are disturbed by the bright light, however-that is why we are using spotlights in Bence's hide. |

Congratulations Kathleen for taking this nice shot from your car.The morning lights are fantastic. I also like the reflections in the background. If I had the opportunity to crop this picture, I would have left a bit more space in front of the bird. |

You are very fortunate to have captured such an adorable picture! Even after 16 years of bird photography I still haven't encountered any water rail chickens. |

Thank you Peter for always offering helpful advice. I followed your suggestions, and my picture turned out for the better. On one's own photos it is harder to notice faults. |
