Kathleen your photo was taken in the right time. In this wing position the bird's wings do not cast a shadow on the bird's face. The wings are in a diagonal position and the bird is between the branches.The modification of the white balance and the background darkness is dependent on the tast of the person. |

I like the complementary colour of the background. The main them of the picture: The bird's eyes, face and its prey, all of which are pretty sharp.The bird's soft tail isn't very distracting. It comes from the small depht of field of the 600 mm telephoto lens. |
