While this image works as you've presented it, I do think I might prefer it cropped in from the left side, keeping the people who are walking, but eliminating the head of the person in the lower left corner. Of course, that changes the composition with centering the tower, so you could try just cloning out or darkening the person in the corner (although obviously not for PSA travel or other places where that wouldn't be allowed). The flag in the upper right corner doesn't bother me. |

I agree with the others that this is a beautifully composed image, and I think your subject is well suited to the sepia tone. Does it work to darken the grass in front of the building just a little more? It's fine as it is, although it looks to me more like fallen autumn leaves than grass in the monochrome conversion. I still kick myself that I never did get into Smokey Mountain National Park during the five years I lived in northern Georgia. I need to rectify that one of these days. |

That's interesting. I am not familiar with this group near Waco. Although the subject matter from a bygone era here tends to suggest a monochrome image, I actually prefer your color image here. The color helps add more separation between the horses and driver and the background, and the field looks so lush and green in the color image. I agree with Tom that I prefer the composition as you have it with the horses and driver moving toward the left into the frame rather than moving out of it. |

I like how your conversion to monochrome and other adjustments helped even out the model's skin tone and show more detail on her facial features. I likely would have cropped a little more from the bottom of this image to help draw more attention to the model, but since you mention the forest in your title, it makes sense that you wanted to include more of it. I'd recommend darkening the area just to the right above her head a little more, as the bright area there keeps tempting me to look in that direction. |
