When I initially viewed this image, I liked your vertical cropping, which helped to eliminate the background distractions and draw attention to the signs and message. I suppose if the purpose of the image is photojournalism, having the woman with the march t-shirt does convey more of the story of the event. While the color image draws attention, I prefer the monochrome. |

You were fortunate to have some clouds, as those add some texture and contrast to the background of this image. I wouldn't have thought of a potato, but since Diana mentioned it, I agree the monochrome image does look like a potato! I always think bubbles look really intriguing, but haven't tried to photograph any, so I can only imagine the challenges involved in doing so. |

It sounds like Murphy is less than impressed with being a model. I do like the one ear straight and one bent, and as already mentioned, I too think I would like the ears just a bit brighter. While the image works as you have it, I think I might prefer a tighter crop of the head and chest area, or at least a bit off the left side to remove the edge of the leg. |

Your models and their outfits are interesting. Like you, I'm finding the fence somewhat distracting, although I believe that may be because the bright shrubbery behind it is drawing my attention away from the subjects. However, darkening the background doesn't really work with the hats, does it? I realize completely replacing the background requires a lot of effort, but a factory or even whimsical wall of time pieces might be effective.
