Believe it or not, Mormon pioneers built a trail that went very close to Natural Bridges, and they brought their wagons through here. There are lots of interesting accounts online of making the "Hole in the Rock" portion of the trail. |

I, too, think this is better in the monochrome rather than the sepia version. I'd probably still work on brightening the left subject's head/face a little bit more, if possible, as the eyes are nearly getting lost on my monitor. |

You've found yet another beautiful old church building. My eye went right to the heart shape, so your modification of that was effective. I wonder how the roof came to be stained only in that area? |

Although the background in your color image is nice with the dusky sky, I think your choice to convert this to monochrome helps place the emphasis on the word play. Air travel certainly made me feel discombobulated even before COVID. |

Certainly, I can attest that bird photography is very trying on one's patience. However, I like the land/waterscape you've created here. The sky doesn't bother me, but I do think cropping some of the left side, as Diana did in addition to her crop of the upper part of the image, helps make the darker palms on that side less prominent. I'm curious -- was there a boardwalk, or does a photographer in this area need waders or a boat? |

This is an interesting idea, and I like the composition, although I probably would have moved the left umbrella just a bit more to the right to avoid it being so near the edge of the frame. To me, the grunge effect is too heavy on the right side of the image, although perhaps it is just the bright white spot that pulls my eye away from the subject. While I know you intentionally used the sepia to create an old photo effect, I believe this also would be effective in black and white.

Of the two Muir Woods images, I like this one better. I think the diagonal tree/limbs creates a nice break in the pattern of the vertical trees. To me, with all the light that appears to be in the background of the image, the forest floor also seems as if it should be a bit brighter, although I know you prefer darker images. |
