When I first looked at this image, I wondered what was happening, as the light didn't seem quite like what I expected to see from a moonlit image. Then, I read your description and said, "Ah, now it makes more sense." I like the way you composed the image with the well in the right corner. |

As others have mentioned, your choice of sepia here is effective to give this image a more time-worn feeling. While I agree with Wes that the sign and safety bar take away somewhat from that, they also create an interesting juxtaposition of the old bridge and horse team existing in the more "modern" world. For me, the vignette is just a little bit heavy, but that likely is a matter of personal preference. |

Since you don't have enough differing options already (ha!), I will add my own. While the closer detail that you show in the diagonal image is interesting, I think the "story" in your original image showing the immensity of the building and the vast number of sculptures inside better captures my interest and imagination. It must have been incredible to see in person. I also feel that increasing the contrast improves the image. |

I, too, like the way you've cropped the image here. It helps draw my attention more to the photographers and what they are doing. The tones you've captured in the water in the foreground are pleasing to my eye. It almost makes the water there appear frozen. Looking at this image, I'm now wanting to go for a walk at the coast. Soon, hopefully. |

An interesting idea and technique you've used here with the light painting on the mirror. I, too, prefer the color version of the image, as I find the hues and contrasting colors in the leaves adds to the subject matter for me. While the monochrome image also is nice, I agree that the leaves themselves and the reflection are better separated in the color image. You do have nice sharpness and depth of field, which I have found challenging in my attempts to do still life images, even with the controlled environment. |

I like the spiral and clouds in this image. However, I also share the sense of disconnection between the spiral and the buildings on the right. I'm trying to come up with an idea for something else to use that might relate more to your pattern, but am not certain what to suggest. Perhaps stairs, or is that too cliche with the number of spiral staircase photos people do? |
