Isaac, I love this shot, and the pano is nice as well. It looks like you had really lovely light.
All of the eyes are in focus, their postures complement the focus, and the bit of color in his teeth adds a little bit extra.
Well done. |

Hi Adrian.
What a moment to witness and capture! As Bruce points out, the light is harsh and the dynamic range is wide, so it'll be a personal choice for where your edit ends up. I think I like something between yours and Isaac's - I like that you kept yours dark enough to not make the edit so obvious, but I think bumping up the overall exposure rather than the shadows might go a long way to make the snow less muddy. I like that Isaac's edit brings the birds out a bit more too - they're a neat part of the story to me.
Thanks for sharing! |

Hi Maria and welcome!
It sounds like you had quite the enjoyable shooting session - This bright fella sure does have a lot going for him. I like Bruce's input. I find the bird to be a bit crunchy but I'm not sure if it's from contrast or sharpening after such a large crop, or maybe some Topaz artifacting.
I like your color grading! |

Bruce,
What a great shot - Good job incorporating the terrain to tell the full story and getting the most out of the light. You should be proud to have this in your collection.
There are a few sensor spots at the top to take care of. |
