Very nice job. I really like that you kept the wonderful aging of this gentleman. Nice job sharpening the eyes. Nice brush work throughout. The brush strokes around the head appear appear "sharper" than the ones further out, perhaps blur that. Wonderful capture and painting. |

I love this! To me it has a stained glass feel. The triad color harmony is very pleasing. You have inspired me to play with my topaz :) |

Love your decision to flip the image, it feels move comfortable moving in that direction. You have given the gnu nice room to move into although the images feels a bit tight on the tail top and side. The oil painting texture is wonderful on the grasses and I think you did a good job with your layers in minimizing the texture on the subject. |

I really like the warmth that was added in the painting. The texture on the flower is nice and colors are bright and cheery. Placing the stem from the corner may add visual interest. To my eye the blur going out form flowers is a bit distracting. The decisions to remove the busy background was a good one but I would still like something in the background. Perhaps a subtle texture, that might make the blur less distracting. |
