Thanks Susan!
Sigma lenses are a third-party manufacturer who makes lenses for all the major cameras. Their Art series are great lenses and very sharp. The particular model I was using has a bulbous front lens which require the 150mm square ND filters. |

Thanks Peter! I wish I could have planned the cloud locations but sometimes being lucky is the best photography! |

Hey Ella,
Not sure if the wrong photo was uploaded as the description doesn't seem to match but I love the stairs and the way they pull the eye upward, works really well. The arched ceiling and wrought-iron railings add interest. At first, I thought the column should have been cropped out but I realized it helps frame the stairs.
The only thing I might have tried is to reduce the bright light on the left entry. As your eye is drawn up the stairs it seems to be a distraction. Maybe burn it down and use a radial to increase the light from the doors at the top of the stairs?

Susan,
A beautiful and graceful portrait, she's lovely.
I'm not a portrait photographer but I might have darkened the background a little more to increase the tonal separation between the background and her hair. As for sharpening, if you use Photoshop, there's several sharpen filters available. You could choose one of those, globally sharpen the photo until you have the hand the way you want it, then apply a black mask and paint in the areas that need the additional sharpening. PS also has a sharpen tool that I've had success with. |

Hi Peter,
A powerful and dramatic image. As Ella says, the people on the left help set the scale for how large the waterfall is. |

Nice capture John! This is a great old door shot, very moody, gritty and full of character. You certainly have the eye for picking out the unusual.
If this had been mine, I would have darkened the door and frame to make it stand out more. And also, burned the lefthand side wall. Hope you don't mind, but I played around with it a little and attached a version with my suggestions. |
