I guess I could have been more accurate in my description of the location. This was during my trip to Death Valley, but I spent a couple of weeks in the general area. This photo was taken just outside the NW part of the park, in Lone Pine, California. |

Hello Ella,
This shot is stunning, pure energy and elegance! The lighting really makes her pop against the dark background and the pose couldn't be more graceful. |

Hi Ed
Excellent example of how texture and geometry can take a everyday subject and turn it into an engaging composition. |

Hi Ian, isolating a small portion of the Aston Martin was a great idea. Really like the way the soft light hits the curves and lines of the body. The water adds some cool texture. |

Hello Peter, another great Iceland capture. Like the long exposure and the mist along the rocks and water. |

Hello John,
Nice capture! I like the interplay between the bridges and buildings. The curves create leading lines that draws your eye across the frame and the building mimicking the arching bridge is well thought out.
If I could make a few suggestions, I'd lighten the bridge to separate if from the sky and bring it forward in the composition. More contrast in the sky would help and maybe remove or crop out the object in the bottom right hand corner. |

Hi Susan, beautiful area must have been a great trip. As Peter has mentioned before, NIK Pro Contrast in Color EFEX is a great tool. I'd start there and then add some local adjustments for dodging and burning the areas you want to bring out. Adding contrast helps to separate the mountains, increasing the depth. Everyone's taste is different, but I played around with it a little bit and here's my version. |
