31 Jun 25 Reply Thanks John, I darn near ruined a pair of pants getting down on the ground, especially after all the rain. Jun 18th
31 Jun 25 Reply Thanks Peter! I tend to overshoot everything, there's no worse feeling than getting home and not have the shots you need. I shoot with the Canon R5 using the focus bracketing function, all automated at just the push of a button. Looking back at the files, I used 40 images for the focus stacking in Helicon and another 6 images for the light painting. Jun 15th

31 Jun 25 Reply I try to have fun any time I'm out shooting! I like getting out of my comfort zone and trying something new, keeps the creative juices flowing. Thanks for the comments! Jun 12th
31 Jun 25 Comment Hello Ella,

This shot is sleek and classy-like something you'd find in a fashion magazine. The mannequin hand adds this elegant, mysterious vibe, and the looped film gives the whole thing movement and a cool, vintage feel. I love the lighting-it's smooth and soft but still shows off all the textures: the shine on the satin, the gloss on the film, and the matte feel of the hand. Everything is so well thought out.

31 Jun 25 Comment Hello Susan,

I've created a couple of photos like this, and I know the dynamic range can be brutal. You've handled it well, the way the sunlight hits the patch of leaves makes if feel like they're under a spotlight. Everything else around the tree fades to a dark forest. It's a lovely, quite kind of image - the kind that rewards slowing down and really looking. Great capture!

31 Jun 25 Comment Hi Ed,

This is a really cool take on a playground scene-it feels a bit moody and almost dreamlike. The way the light hits that slide makes it look like it's glowing, and the shadows on the ground make a great pattern that mimics the shape of the slide itself.

I'm wondering if the bottom of the slide might be blown out a little? Seems like there could be more detail there.

31 Jun 25 Comment Hey Peter,

This one's a stunner. That stone with its curved track pulls you right into the scene. The textures are wild, super crisp, and the black-and-white gives it this timeless, otherworldly feel. Love how the trail starts sharp and leads your eye all the way to the mountains.

31 Jun 25 Comment Hello John,

This shot has a great mood. Really like the old stone with the little window, adds a sense of mystery. Makes me want to go over and peek inside the building! The light raking across the wall creates a beautiful texture and the triangles add a dynamic touch.

Only things I would suggest is to level the building as it leans to the right and maybe dodge the trees a little to create separation from the roof?
